Family Weekend!

ImageImageWent back home this weekend to visit the family, and to introduce them to the soon to be newest member of our family!… (and yes, i do like to throw my man to the dogs so to speak, all of them…… at the same time 🙂 ) he did really well though, probably a little more shy than normal, but who could blame him right? The fact that he survived the weekend at all is a feat in and of itself, dont’cha think?

We had a pretty relaxed weekend, sat and chatted, had dinner, [ OH YEA! it was my 24th birthday! did i mention that? ] so it was a multiple celebration weekend. I had a baby shower to go to on Saturday for a girlfriend of mine, which was super fun. I even won an Orchid for, get this: having the most random and weird things in my purse! haha anyone who knows me would not be shocked at that one. After the shower, it was fun to go bowling with the family, let loose, and then head out to the casino for a pretty fancy shmancy steak dinner. They even surprised us with a cake!image

just look at that adorable cake with the air force logo on it and the little plane! 😀 too cute for words i must say… although now i have all this left over cake to deal with….. no bueno for this pre-wedding diet i’ve been trying to keep up on… but this doesn’t really count towards it…. right? (just say yes).

All in all, very special weekend, and i’m glad that my family finally got to meet J!  (i think they approved, although, lets be honest, they don’t really have a choice now, being that we are getting married in —–2 weeks—- !!! EEEK!

Hope everyone else’s weekend was as fun and wonderful as mine! 🙂 cheers

Almost, but not quite…!

ImageWelp, Today we went down and applied for our marriage license!!! so exciting… i mean yea, ok , its a slip of paper, i do realize that, BUT….. it DOES have a shiny golden seal… and its HALFWAY filled out… LOL 😉

Its true, the little things really brighten your day. the sun is out, my man was off work today (thanks to his base exercise getting done a day early!!! yippeee!), and we had a great lunch. the piece of paper was just the icing on the cake. only 2 weeks to go till its official. i kind of wanted to just be spontaneous and get married today, since we were both there, and why not right? But i’ll wait till i’m not wearing jeans and a t-shirt… i guess….. *sigh* lol. i’m sure i’ll thank myself one day when i’m not looking back at the photo albums and i see remnants of my lunch still gracing my shirt. it would have been fun though to get married on a whim like that. I guess i’ll leave the more spontaneous things for the not so momentousness occasions in my life 🙂

Ohh.. the things to do…

i cannot believe that we are only 3 short months away from leaving! i feel like there is so little time to do anything, yet time is going by so slow at the same time. My future hubby and i are trying to get everything organized to tie the knot in a couple weeks, then hopefully we can get his paperwork filed ASAP—–! my name needs to be on his PCS paperwork before i think i will be able to breathe. *sigh* i guess i’m just one of those people who hopes for the best but is always preparing for the worst. i.e. me not getting to go with him. Luckily for me, i have an amazing man and he will stop at nothing to make sure that we have all of our ducks  in a row.

just one of the many reasons why i love him so dearly. ❤

I’m not normally an organizational freak, but when it comes to, lets say, life altering moves, i feel like my inner OCD comes out. until we are officially married, there’s not much that i can do, first things gotta come first. so for now, other than twiddling my thumbs and going stir crazy, i’m taking my spare time to whittle away and throw out any unnecessary items, clothes, junk, bags… and shoes. yes i said shoes… i shed a little tear each time i realize i wont have adequate closet space for my prized collection. Coming to terms with the notion: No, those don’t fit you, so therefore you don’t need them bit is possibly my true downfall. Perhaps that’s just all girls though. We are all predisposed to want/NEED to keep all of our pretty little things regardless of use or necessity, right ladies?? (just say yes). Even though my Mr. says that he can keep all of his clothes in cardboard boxes and give me all the closet space available… somehow i don’t think i could live with myself if i made him do that. But isn’t he the sweetest for suggesting that?

Aside from cleaning out my life and downsizing, my head is mentally making a list of things that need to get done before we leave. but to be quite honest, i have absolutely NO clue what to expect and how to prepare for this. I assume the Air Force will be letting us know down the road all the things that we need to do to get ready, but again, i want to know NOW!…. patience is not my virtue, but perhaps i’ll learn how to be after this is all said and done. Prayers for peace of mind are of course, always appreciated. Maybe i’ll try some meditation techniques….  *whoosaaaaa*

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to my very first blog! I may just be rambling most of the time, but this is my attempt at documenting and sharing the next chapter of my life, and trying not to bore everyone in the process.

I guess I should start from the beginning. I’ve had my ups and downs with dating, as I’m sure most everyone has, so yes, I gave online dating a try. If any of you have tried, you’ll know It’s quite an adventure, to say the least. I got on in hopes of finding someone to settle down with, my soul mate if you will. I may be a romantic, but I believe in that sort of thing. God answered my prayers when he put J in my life. He too was looking for his soul mate, and we met, and it was as simple and delightful as that. *Corny alert* To make a short story even shorter, we fell in love and lived happily ever after. No really though.

So to continue, blah blah blah our lives are great. Well, aside from the whole, we live 45 minutes away from each other bit. That part is lame, let me reiterate, VERY lame. Jaala is in the Air Force, and he therefore lives on base, at Mountain Home Air Force Base. That poses some problems, logistically, but otherwise we couldn’t be happier. Well, it wasn’t until then, did we sure did get thrown for a loop. Are you ready?………… J got orders.

Apparently J’s superior knowledge and skills are needed elsewhere, of course this I could understand (he’s pretty amazing), but all the way to GERMANY?!!!!!! I’m sure you could imagine my head swirling about when I heard that little detail. But don’t worry everyone…… he’s taking this lady with him! (how could he not though, really.) So yes, we are about to embark on an adventure of a lifetime, in August we will be picking up our lives and moving across the world to Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany… for 3 years!!! I still can’t quite wrap my head around it just yet.

So I know what you are all thinking, I’m kinda crazy right? well yes, indeed I am, but in a good way of course; crazy in love or however you wanna put it. I couldn’t think of a more amazing thing to do at this point in my life.  The places we will go and the people we will meet, this will be one of the best experiences in both of our lives.

My oh my all the things that need to be done before now and August! Getting married, being one of them. Yes, while it’s true that the Air Force may have expedited this momentous occasion for us, we both couldn’t want anything more than to be Mr. and Mrs. Brooks. It feels like we’ve already been married for ages, but now we need to make it paper official. That way, I can officially be put on J’s orders and be shipped off to Europe too! We’ve already started making our rounds to visit family, and we will be tying the knot on May 3, 2013 ❤. Yay!!!! While it will just be a simple courthouse wedding, we are both VERY excited, to say the least. It’s going to be the most happiest day of our lives, no matter where we are. With wedding bells ringing in our not too distant future, J and I are just counting down the days where we can begin our new life together.

I’ll leave you all today with that overload of corny-ness and random exciting news! But i’ll most likely be checking back in with you all whenever I want to rant, ramble brag, or vent; or all of the above. So you’re very welcome in advance for giving your little eyes something to do for a few minutes a day/week/month/etc.

Until next time! Gutentag! or however that’s supposed to be spelled. 🙂
